One of the most popular choices among regulars is their homemade lasagna, layered with rich, savory meat sauce and topped with a melty layer of cheese. It's the kind of dish that feels like a comforting hug. The creamy risottos and the perfectly seared osso buco also come highly recommended. Each dish feels like it’s been crafted with love and attention to detail, making it hard to resist ordering more.

What really sets this place apart, though, is the personal touch that the owners bring to the dining experience. Best meal we had in Amsterdam. Everything was intimate and cozy but still upscale and elegant. The pasta was fresh and homemade, the flavors were thoughtful and balanced, the service from one of the servers was outstanding and delightful. The lady with the brown hair server I could not say the same, she was not as much of a delight, and I don’t think she liked her job very much. Anyways, delightful little restaurant the Donna Sofia!

One of my favorite small Italian restaurants in Amsterdam. The recipes are authentic, the dishes are tasty and portions are pleasantly generous. Wines are decent and you can find those that match your food. The atmosphere is cozy and warm; pleasant but limited outdoor seating in season. The cat is a lovely permanent fixture. The “aubergine parmaggiana” was super delicious but does not seem to be in the menu anymore.

Service 10/10 Food 10/10 The menu switches constantly so you can always expect something new. The pasta was perfectly cooked. The meatballs were exceptional! And the tiramisu to finish was again perfect. I would absolutely go back. Ate all of the food before I could take a photo, but did get one of the tiramisu.

We had a great dinner here! The menu doesn’t have too many options, which actually makes it easier to choose. They change the menu from time to time, The food was excellent and the pastas were truly delicious. The restaurant is in a nice location.

My husband and I were here to celebrate our 22nd wedding anniversary. We had a fantastic evening; the food was exquisite and of the highest quality. The effort put into the dishes was clearly visible and palate-pleasing. The presence of Silvio the cat was also very cosy. Highly recommended!

My first time dining in here I was just walking by and loved the way this place looked from the outside, So I decided to come here for dinner. I had green pea purée with baby octopus for starters and spaghetti with olive oil and garlic , for my Main course had veal cheek with mashed potatoes and I will have to say it was delightful, If you are in Amsterdam, I highly recommend this place. You definitely enjoy every bite and the service is outstanding.
